Fishing is one of our area’s biggest attractions.  The Smoky Mountain Country Club is located in Swain County, home to the Fly Fishing museum of the Southern Appalachians just 10 minutes up the road in Bryon City, North Carolina.  Fishing outfitters throughout our area offer gear and instruction in the art of fly fishing.  Our streams are teaming with mountain trout, known locally as “Brookies”.  Two large lakes also offer area fishing for the traditional caster.  With over 17 species of trout and bass and other fish you can cast away!
